From 6-8 of November, in the Faculty of Information and Communication, Montevideo, Uruguay, the II Meeting of Behavioral Biology of the Southern Cone was held. Marina Alma, Andrés Devegili and Alejandro Farji-Brener demonstrated what LIHo is doing in Patagonia. Their presentations showed the importance of wind for the distribution of aphids in host plants and for the chemical communication of ants. In addition, they discuss on the aggressiveness in ecological interactions between ants and aphids, and on the effects of exotic wasps on honeybees (and how to use repellents to avoid it).
So great were the repercussions, that Andrés Devegili was awarded for his excellent oral communication. Congratulations Andrés!!!
