Visit of Agustín Lovrich and his encounter with Patagonian ants

During January 2019 we were lucky that Agustín Lovrich, a biology student from the UBA, came to do an internship in two of the projects we are carrying out: “Ecosystem services provided by ants: implications for the restoration of degraded areas and biological control” and “Good or bad tenants? Role of ant-aphid assembly on the adaptation of exotic cardon”

Agustín gained experience in recording data on the behavior of insects in the field, observing interactions between ants and plants, collecting insects in the field, surveying ant nests, surveying community arthropods, mounting ant exclusions, conditioning experimental colonies of ants in the laboratory, measuring plant parameters, harvesting and weighing of plant samples and digitization of data, among other activities.

Thank you Augustín for your visit and commitment!
