We participated in the Newton Fund Workshop on ecosystem services and smallholder farms

We participated in the Newton Fund workshop “Biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services provision to improve economic, environmental and social performance in smallholder farms“ which took place in Valparaíso, Chile (September 2018). The aim of this workshop, which is part of the British Council Researcher Links Program, was to favor interaction and new collaborative international multidisciplinary research partnerships. It gathered young researchers from different disciplines, including ecology, agriculture, economy and social sciences, as well as specialists in pest control and pollination. Organizing institutions were University of Reading, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Universidad Nacional de Río Negro. During the workshop there were poster and brainstorming sessions, outlining of future research proposals, visit to small farmers of the area and lectures from researchers and political referents.
